Who the hell is Recon?

01

Who are we?

A network of veteran and military spouse real estate professionals with firsthand experience navigating frequent military relocations. We believe military families benefit from greater flexibility and transparency in their housing options, and we work to support those needs with purpose and care.

02

How does it work?

Many buyers today discover homes online before ever contacting a real estate professional. In military communities, this often results in one military family purchasing a home from another. Traditional commission-based structures don’t always reflect how these transactions occur. Recon allows sellers to list their home and connect with interested buyers. When professional support is needed to complete the transaction, flat-fee options are available for handling the required paperwork and coordination—providing clarity and predictability throughout the process.

03

When should I list?

Timing a home sale during a military move can feel stressful, especially when timelines are tight. Traditional listing strategies often focus on a defined window leading up to closing, but that approach doesn’t always align with military schedules. Some sellers choose to list as soon as they know a move is coming, allowing other military families to view the home earlier in the process. In certain situations, this can create smoother transitions for both parties and reduce the need for temporary housing—depending on timing, market conditions, and individual circumstances.

04

What's the cost?

Listing and sharing your home on the Recon platform is available at no cost. There are no required fees to explore selling or renting through the platform. If a seller chooses professional real estate services to complete a transaction, flat-fee options may be available and are clearly outlined in advance. This approach provides military families with greater transparency around costs and the flexibility to choose the level of service that best fits their situation, allowing them to make informed decisions about how they want to move forward.

05

Worst case scenario?

If your home doesn’t sell through the Recon platform, sellers may choose to transition to a traditional Multiple Listing Service (MLS) listing. At that point, professional real estate representation can be discussed and structured based on individual needs and market conditions. Recon is designed to give sellers flexibility and options throughout the process, allowing families to adjust their approach if circumstances change and choose the path that makes the most sense for their situation.
